Week One

Fail.

Yesterday was the end of my first week of work. As you can see in the title, it didn't end like I would have hoped. The entire first week went super great. I was busy all the time, I'm getting along with everyone, I'm getting so much accomplished, then Friday happens. Isn't Friday considered a bad luck day?? I think it is. I tried to stay positive all throughout the day as these terrible things were happening. Being positive, only brings in positive, right?!

So, I'm guessing you are wondering what in the world happened to me???

Well... I didn't get fired if that was what you were thinking. And I probably won't. It wasn't my fault!!!

Well, here's my story:

8 am: My morning begins at work. I walk in, the office that I am sharing with my boss (The owner of the franchise) is working a different area until 10 am. 

8 am - 830 am : I'm looking through sites to find flowers for an employees funeral

8:30 am: OMG! I realize I have to find 5 plastic bins that can carry hanging file folders within an hour. I hadn't even begun the looking process. AND I need to find the exact one (good luck)....

8:45 am : Bingo - found them. Office Depot here I come. Thankfully it's right around the corner.

9: 00 am : I get back and start working on putting them together. I look at my phone and realize I have 20 minutes to finish them all, and guess what..... I'm 20 file folders short! Not to mention, tabs and inserts for the tabs.

9:30 am : I rush into the account office and beg the girl to give me some of hers.

10:00 am : DONE! Boss walks in, doesn't even need them. WHAT?!?! I have a bad habit that when someone tells me they need something, I think they need it right away. I need to start asking for specific times.

**Boss leaves for a mini vacation at 10 am**

This isn't the bad part, BTW. Just an idea of my stress I created.

11:00 am : Just before I order lunch in for everyone, I want to get some last minute documents scanned in to my bosses Scanned File Driver. I knew from the beginning of the morning, thanks to Caitlin, I couldn't get into the Shared Access Driver because of some problems. So I figured it was okay to get into the scanned driver. So I get in there, and as I'm changing the name of the file, I realize on my other screen in one of my folders, there's a file called, you got it, "Porn". I freak out. I rush to our technician and ask him to come to my office. I show him the file, and he freaks, then I freak again. The tech launches a virus scanner on my computer which takes an hour to finish. (Oh by the way, my computer is linked to my bosses... yippie). So every time we run the virus scanner on mine, we run it on his. 

12:00 pm: Lunch is in, virus scan is complete.

The tech comes in, and we can't get a pop up (the virus) to go away. He does something and restarts the computer and it's supposed to be fixed.

12:15 pm : Computer reloads, and I'm trying to do things on it, the pop up won't go away. Every time it comes up, I can't do anything. The tech comes in and we re-run the virus scanner.

2:30 pm :  Doesn't fix anything, we have to fix it again, reboot, relaunch app, yadda yadda.

Did I screw my computer?!?!

At this point in the game, I won't even get on my computer. Too scared. So the last run, I just do manual work.

4:30 pm : It worked! I think? Once the virus scan is done, he runs a new application, which I think was to get rid of the viruses. I ask him if now I can get on to finish up before I leave at 5 and he gives me the ok.

4:30-4:35 : I sit and stare at my computer, afraid to do anything in case I mess something up.

4:35:4:40 : I try to access the internet - no internet power. I try to access my email, both monitors start rapidly flashing, email shuts off. 

4:40 - 4:45 : I sit there stunned. What did I do now?!?! I watch the new application do it's thing. All the sudden, it says it's deleting all my files. oh my goshhhhhhh.

4:45 pm : I inform the tech I'm leaving for the day before I I burn the office. He goes in the office with me to check it out, and freaks. I freak. 

End of the week. Friday. 4:45 pm. Computer - Dead. Porn Virus. Amazing.

Let's just clear this up... I didn't initially get the porn, it was passed to my computer through a shared program.

To top things off, I come home and share my eventful day with Rob, my mom, and sister. No one else found this humorous but Rob. He gets me. Only I would somehow we some weird porn virus on my first week of work, and give it to my boss.

A couple hours later, I sit on the couch to wacth movies with Rob. *RIIIIIPPPPPPPPPP* 

My favorite jeans rip, right up my butt.

Job : Day Four

Job.

Day Four.

Party Time.

I. Love. My. Job.

Is it too early to say that? Probably so. But so far so good.

I think this is a good indicator for me. My first two weeks at my bank job, I literally sat at a desk with nothing to do. Limited internet... like 3 news websites... I was so ridiculously bored. The job got better, but it was typically boring.  My first 2 months at my 2nd administrative job, I was being trained by a lady retiring from the position. She literately told me to hide some days to make it seem like I'm busy. There wasn't much to do on a daily basis. I was really only there to print off the report in the morning, which anyone could do, and to book catering and flights, which was once a month... Waste of time. I obviously didn't last.

So far at this new job I've been busy non-stop. I am pretty much constantly planning parties/events, thinking of new ways to market. Contacts Charities, and setting up times for us to volunteer. Of course I still do the typical admin stuff, scanning, faxing, and copying documents. I get to leave the office on occasion to go to FedEx or Staples. I've been quite entertained and it's only be four days. Once I pick up on how the office works, I'll probably be given even more tasks to do. Please!! Keep me busy! I love it.

Another amazing part, I get to wear jeans, and we order in lunch a lot, which means I get over time for the lunch period. Hey, it's a couple extra bucks in my account!

Pasta Night

I'm not saying I am an extravagant cooker, but I can make an amazing Alfredo!  All my meals are store bought, I don't have time or money to invest in clean eating or making things from scratch. From time to time I do try it, and hopefully when we decide to have children I'll be able to make some fresh foods. I also really really want to make a garden in my home. Rob's mother has one in her yard, and it is definitely on my wish list!! So as on now, it's store bought products for us! I'm not complaining though! It's effortless, simple, and cheap! Especially when people are on a tight budget. Fortunately, thanks to Rob, we won't be like that anymore, but my true instincts still say "save, save, save!" Cheap at Heart. lol

Tuesday I made Stuffed chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn. I wish I could make stuffed chicken at home, but I don't have one of those meat pounders yet. It is on my list!! I tried it one time, and tried to get creative with some stuff - - sauce pan, plate, aluminum foil and punch it. Nothing seems to flatten that sucker!!! So I threw the ham and cheese on top, still delish!!! {I'm so lazy lol}

Stuffed chicken : $0.99 ea. (2)

Mashed potatoes [ box] : $0.30

Half packet of gravy : $0.20

Can of Cream Corn : $0.49

Total Meal Cost : $2.97     

 I already had some stuff, so I just bought the corn and gravy this week. Bravo Me.

Yesterday I made simple Alfredo. It's actually lasted us two nights. I didn't think that was going to happen, so that is great. And I love my pastas. All I need is the sauce, noodles and cheese.. nothing fancy

Noodles [1 box] : $0.99

Alfredo Sauce : $1.69

Cheese [1/3 packet] : $0.99

Garlic Bread [1/3 box] : $0.56

Total Meal Cost : $4.23 {$2.12 per night}

These might be simple easy meals that anyone can do, and most probably already do make these, but a lot of people don't realize that this is how I save so much money! This is why I only spend $18 a week at the grocery store. All that extra money that I don't spend at the store, either goes to savings or I can spend a couple bucks on myself. 

Once you start saving, it gets addicting!!
